History

@The Joban Branch, set in a tranquil hillside landscape outside Iwaki City, Fukushima Prefecture, was opened in April 1963 as a hot spring recuperation center for racehorses needing long-term rest and treatment for bone fractures, tendinitis, and other ailments. Today, treatment is given to many active racehorses to help them make an speedy return to racing, as a comprehensive rehabilitation center incorporating the latest medical treatments in fully equipped facilities. These include a swimming pool and water treadmill, in addition to the original hot-spring sanatorium. As various data on rehabilitation for active racehorses can be obtained here, joint research is conduct together with the horse clinics in the training centers, the Sports Science Research Center and others.
